TAKT PROJECT is pleased to announce our upcoming exhibition.
We will present the outcomes of our collaborative research with SOLIZE Holdings Corporation in the exhibition “Lessons in Relating: Dialogue with Trees #100”, to be held at AXIS Gallery in Roppongi.
The exhibition will run from Saturday, November 22 to Sunday, November 30.
An opening reception will be held on the eve of the opening, Friday, November 21.

SOLIZE Holdings Corporation is committed to advancing innovation in manufacturing through digital technology.
Within this initiative, the Sustainable Creativity Lab—guided by the concept of “inherently beautiful making”—and TAKT PROJECT will co-host a joint exhibition.
In this exhibition, we present the outcomes of our collaborative research, which explores new attitudes toward making by considering digital technology as something that expands our capacity to engage with materials. The results of this inquiry are expressed through 100 experimental works.

Lessons in Relating：Dialogue with Trees #100
Kneading mud, snapping branches, striking stone—
these are moments of simple play,
of wordless dialogue with the materials in our hands.
We all carry such memories.
The will to make a material become the form we planned in our minds—
this active stance can render those dialogues unnecessary,
and with them, the conversation with the environments
in which those materials once lived.
Perhaps what we need today
is to reclaim that dialogue,
to restore our sensitivity to the otherness of our surroundings.
With this question in mind, we turned to the motif of the “branch,”
reflecting on what it might mean in the present moment.
At the same time, we sought to reinterpret technology as something that supports us—
a presence that helps recover our sense for materials and extends our capacity to feel them.
The objects born from this process possess no purpose yet,
no defined function.
They are studies—exercises in relating to the forest.
This project is, in essence,
a lesson in relating with those who are not human.
